Hotel: W Retreat and Spa, Vieques Island

This post is really for the winter-time.. but I can't wait :)

Vieques Island, Puerto Rico.

As recently as 2003 this tiny spot was used by the US military for a far less luxurious purpose.
Today, however, at the W Retreat and Spa, stylish hospitality reigns.

I love these interiors for their originality.

Patricia Urquoila of Studio Urquoila
passed up the option to fill spaces with rattans and island florals,
and instead created a sophisticated hippy-esque decor vibe,
fresh when set against clean architecture and stunning vistas.

into the suites..

 afternoon tete-a-tetes..

cool, dazzling evenings.. sumptuous cuisine by Chef Alain Ducasse..

just the place to spend a week with your Honey in February,
when Summer is but a dream and sub-zero temperatures have encompassed your entire being..

who's with me?!!

til next time..

The Humongously Talented Amy Butler

Some people are brimming with creativity..
you know the ones, always a project on the go -
they despise the common, always preferring the original and unusual.

If they are fortunate and extremely hard-working,
they find vehicles for their creativity and they flourish,
their passion showing through in all they achieve.

Amy Butler is such a woman.
Her company is overflowing with beautiful and inspired creations.
She spent time as a contributing editor for Country Living magazine,
but her real story is about making..
everything!

Here are some of the treasures you will find at her site..
Amy Butler Design is hugely diversified,
so go and explore to see more of these wonderful goodies..
