Leopard Love

It started in high school.
I found a silk leopard printed scarf and it became my signature bit.
tied in my hair, on my bag, as a sash..
that scarf could have told some stories :)

Oh yes, the knee-length faux leopard coat was so hot in 1999..
moving from the city to the burbs, I still wore it out to the grocery store,
much to our neighbours amusement.

Onward to my first apartment, which looked nothing like these spaces below, LOL.
My first purchase was a leopard carpet - I was sleeping on a futon, but had my carpet!!

There is always a few leopard pillows floating about our place..
it never fails to impress me how versatile this print is -
moving from room-to-room with ease..

Currently, I am trying to convince D. that the old Chippendale sofa
sitting in our bedroom could really use a little leopard love..

It may just skip off to the upholsterers one day, ready to be re-invented...

I like animal prints when used with RESTRAINT-
they add that bit of kitsch and take the edge off.
Do you use any?
Which is your favourite?

on a side note, I was trying to find an example of a chippendale sofa done up in leopard to sell D.,
and have learned that searching chippendale leopard in google will bring up many results,
most of whom are male and scantily clad :)
didn't impress him, for some reason!

til next time..

I'm not big on animal print but for some reason LOVE animal print carpet! My sister had it installed in my niece's teen bedroom a few years back in California. It was sumptuous and gorgeous! Much like Kimora's room there.. actually, my niece's style is very similar to hers.

Its the simple things that are so amusing. Chippendale Leopard I love it!
I am actually a fan of zebra print and love adding a little bit of the Savannah into my home. I just have not commited to it yet. You are so right it can add a little bit of wild if done correctly otherwise it can look very 1980's biker babe if taken to far.
I love that you had your carpet and slept on a futon, now that is commitment to decorating.

I agree--small doses! I had a velor leopard purse I wore daily that I loved. But what really caught my eye was that green sofa, and now I'm drooling on Palmer Weiss's portfolio.

I like the leopard look in these photos. It clearly adds a pop in any room. I need to step outside the box in my home decor :-)

I absolutely loved every photo. I found so much inspiration. I am currently in the process of adding leopard print to every room in a small way. It started out as wanting one room with tons of leopard...like a glamour room or something. But I love the print so much it would make me sooo happy to have a bit of it in every room. I've loved leopard since I was young. I'm 27 and wore it when I was fifteen. Even my comforter in my first dorm room in college was leopard print. WOW. So, you can see, you remind me of myself. Anyhoo, I'm so inspired by this post. Great photos. You have totally sold me on the leopard print carpet. I'm in love ! Thx so much. Please check out my blog. www.thechicleopard.blogspot.com
