Designer Anishka Clarke has found her calling.
Born in Kingston, Jamaica, the designer studied business in Jamaica and NY, working in Finance in London and later New York City.
Successful, but not doing what she loved, she returned to school.
Anishka graduated from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York with a degree in Interior Design, and began Ishka Designs with fellow designer Niya Bascom.
With my current Navy infatuation well under way
(painted the dining room last fall and the powder room - tour coming soon- last weekend!),
I adore this bedroom from a recent project:
A dark accent wall in a living room adds some soul, and that green, oh, that is the accent I'm bringing in all over my place right now - dying over this art and the seating:
In another bedroom, light playing against dark:
A dressing room with a fireplace and seating? Yes, please!
I love that she left the beautiful wood unpainted, it has such a gorgeous patina..
I think this company has a great future ahead, don't you?
Ishka Designs also has a lovely blog, drop in and get to know them a bit more if you like...
til next time..

Simply beautiful, simply b e a u t i f u l
I would never choose navy myself but I love it now!
Navy has been appearing on more and more walls around my place... it has the drama of black but warms up everything around it, especially wood. Look for a post about my navy and white powder room, once i find the perfect accessories :)
Lovely work keep it up Annie.
Dad.
