This post is really for the winter-time.. but I can't wait :)
Vieques Island, Puerto Rico.
As recently as 2003 this tiny spot was used by the US military for a far less luxurious purpose.
Today, however, at the W Retreat and Spa, stylish hospitality reigns.
I love these interiors for their originality.
Patricia Urquoila of Studio Urquoila
passed up the option to fill spaces with rattans and island florals,
and instead created a sophisticated hippy-esque decor vibe,
fresh when set against clean architecture and stunning vistas.
the Living Room..
into the suites..
afternoon tete-a-tetes..
cool, dazzling evenings.. sumptuous cuisine by Chef Alain Ducasse..
just the place to spend a week with your Honey in February,
when Summer is but a dream and sub-zero temperatures have encompassed your entire being..
who's with me?!!
til next time..

I've been to Vieques twice, once for a wedding that was right next to the W. It has a gorgeous ocean view! And of course it is luxurious. The rest of the small island is a lot of fun too, though I recommend going pre/post busy season.
I'm with you :-) The hotel is fabulous. They really went all out with the colors which are bold and cheerful. Nice post as we look ahead to the cold months.
