let's build it beautiful from the start...

sometimes amongst the flurry of frustrated homeowners I work with I find myself becoming frustrated
with the accepted way to build things around here.

Why do we build this

when we could build this?

Perhaps if we took a little more care in the way we constructed this world of ours,
we wouldn't constantly be updating to make it more functional and more attractive....

just saying :)

summer is here, and there's way too much fun to be had here,
so posts may be a wee bit sparser for the next two months -
I know you understand :)

tomorrow we will be back to happy shiny and decorlicious, promise - x

I'm with you...

we must do it right the first time
so that everything will be filled with beauty.

Oh maybe its just the budget that gets in the way:(

Of course we understand, summer is short and we need to take full advantage! So agree when you can make something pretty...why make it ugly? haha, sadly that applies to many things. I believe in quality over quantity, would rather have one beautiful well made chair than a room full of junk! Enjoy your summer days.

So true...being European I often wonder why houses are not built to last, especially looking at cookie cutter suburbs here in Canada. I know its budget reasons and allows more people house ownership, but it's sad to see that things are not built with quality and visual appeal.
Enjoy your summer!

I agree - and today's construction in the 'burbs is sadly ruining the landscape.
Soak up the summer while you can! :)

Oh WOW! I couldn't agree more, Anne-Marie. What good is building for less if you have to keep rebuilding? Great post!

I so agree... I hate seeing all of the urban sprawl eating up the landscape... and it's mostly SO generic and uninspiring.

So true. We tend to do things 20 times rather than once really well.
