Yay or Nay: leaning a mirror behind a console table...

When we sold our last home,
I leaned an extra floor length mirror behind a console table for staging purposes.
It was a quick and easy solution to dress and brighten our upstairs hallway.
(We normally had nothing there,
as it was commonly used for impromptu hockey tournaments and tea parties :)

Everyone commented on it.

I've bumped into it a few times lately,
and I'm wondering what you think of this look?

I'm thinking the more sparkle, the better!
And it highlights a pair of sexy legs so well...

You? Is it a Yay or Nay?

It looks great - the ensemble of table and large mirror is always very dignified.

yay for me too - and you don't have to try to hang a huge mirror on the wall! :)

Its a yay for me. I happen to think it looks great...as long as the scale and materials work with the console.

Hi Anne-Marie,
I love large mirrors leaning against a wall. I have two in my living room with accent tables in front of them. It's a bit of a challenge to hide the lamp cords when the back of the tables are being reflected. It's important to take into consideration what you're displaying, and what will be visible through the mirror - right down to the floor.
Great post with gorgeous images!

I love it too. In fact I found your blog by searching for one for my bedroom. I'm going to put mine in between the bed and closet, so when I'm trying on clothes, I don't have to walk all the way to the bathroom (not a long walk) or to the back of my bedroom door where the light isn't so great. I will blog about it when I find the right mirror! www.ilanagraf.blogspot.com

I absolutely love the idea of using a classical mirror to brighten up and add style to your hallway! It's such a simple yet effective solution for staging purposes. Plus, it adds a touch of elegance to a space that was previously used for impromptu hockey tournaments and tea parties – talk about versatility! It's no wonder everyone commented on it. Keep bumping into it or not, it's a fantastic addition to your home decor.
