19th Century Cool at Prime Meats Bar, NY

Owners Frank Castronovo and Frank Falcinelli have already wooed New Yorkers with
Frankies 457 Court Street Spuntino down the way..

After snapping up this available space, they found an vintage sign from an Old Kosher Butcher,
decided to embrace an earlier era, and Prime Meats was born.
Here they would feature in-house butchering, using locally-sourced ingredients, and classic cocktails.

Their German fare is accompanied, of course by a wide selection of German Beer.

The booths at AugustinerBrau inspired their own.

Brick walls, unstained wide plank flooring, moody panelling and fresh white..
quality finishes harken back to an older time but feel fresh and authentic.
This would be a beautiful asthetic in an old century home.

Have any of you been there?
With a meat-enthused husband who grew up in a butcher family,
it's on the list for our NY trip...

til next time

Heaven - I dig it too! Love a good butcher at the best of times (I literally said that only yesterday after spotting the most incredible looking pork belly at my local, hideously exxy butcher. PS Loved your house hunting tip, Anne-Marie! Might try it next weekend...)
